I've read the Bridgerton series a few times before, when Amazon offered each e book with 2nd epilogue for just $1.99, I bought all of them because I had hardcovers from when they were first released . I was disappointed that the 2nd epilogue was only included with the first 2 books. I bought them anyway, thinking that was the extent of what was written, as I hasn't kept up with Julia Quinn for several years. I just now have had time to read the e books, though I've had them a year or so. As I get to the end of each new book, I am hit with a "buy the next book with 2nd epilogue" the page after the ending. It irritates me, as both Amazon & Julia Quinn advertised as though that was what I was getting when I bought them in the first place. As I said, when only the first 2 contained the 2nd epilogue, I assumed that's all there was. Very disappointing, & this book is especially good, I'd forgotten how good. Which is why, in this review, I'm mentioning the deceptive advertising. Because I'd really love to read the second epilogue for this book. Seeing as how the 2nd epilogue in the first 2 were only a chapter or two, it's really ridiculous to consider buying yet another copy, when I already own 2, just for a couple chapters, especially at the current price.
I truly love the wit & humor in these books. My daughter always is amazed at how much I laugh while reading, since she doesn't have a passion for reading. Not each Bridgerton book is the same, & in my opinion, Eloise's story wasn't as good as the others. To be honest, I didn't remember how much I loved this one. I'm looking forward to the last one, since I don't remember it well, as it's been years since I've read it. I'm almost hoping I don't like it, since the 2nd epilogue is going to not be there.
Well worth the price with the second epilogue, if you hadn't just bought it with in the last year or so.

This is one of my favorites but I always like a good mystery in my romances to keep the story interesting and to learn how two people interact with each other as a common goal is the object but never the end result. AND Lady Danbury has a big part in this book and in my alternate universe I am just like her LOL.Gareth is Lady Danbury's grandson, Hyacinth spends a lot of time with Lady Danbury, reading on tuesdays and attending badly produced musicals and poetry readings. She also is considered to smart for the average male and knows some Italian thanks to an former nurse. Gareth is on the outs with his staid vicious father- but after the death of his elder brother, his sister-in-law gives him the diary of his grandmother, written in Italian. Hoping that the diary will shed some light on a family mystery, he involves Hyacinth in translating the diary and they discover a mystery - hidden treasure, squirrelled away by the grandmother to hide from her husband. To tell more would ruin the plot but this is a really good book, the characters are very believable, the dialogues & interactions are reasonable for the circumstances and there are just enough little surprises with and a long extended time period ending that will knock your socks off- no fair peaking!!!!
I have been a big fan of Julia Quinn’s historical romance novels for almost fifteen years. I own paperback copies of every single one of her books, but if a deal comes along, I will always buy it. Because why not? In addition to making my collection portable, this also gives me the option to purchase the Audible edition at a reduced price. I’ve been trying to walk 10,000 steps a day, so having audiobooks to listen to helps me meet my goal while I walk around the neighborhood.

I recently listened to It’s In His Kiss. This is the 7th entry in her Bridgerton series, which features eight alphabetically named Regency era aristocratic siblings. It’s In His Kiss is Hyacinth Bridgerton’s story. Hyacinth agrees to help Gareth St. Clair translate his late grandmother’s diary from Italian into English, but she had no idea that the diary might contain secrets. When the diary insinuates that there might be a valuable treasure hidden in the St. Clair London home, Hyacinth sees an opportunity to a grand adventure.

There’s just one problem Gareth’s father despises him, and would never allow him into the house. And then things get complicated when Gareth kisses Hyacinth. Who would have guessed what that one kiss would lead to?

It’s In His Kiss is such a charming story. I don’t think I’ve read it since its initial release ten years ago, so it was like a new reading experience. There are plenty of lighter moments and comic relief, courtesy of Lady Danbury, a recurring character who is hilariously candid and never afraid to share her opinion. But there are also some poignant elements, especially concerning Gareth’s relationship (or lack thereof) with his father.

I would absolutely recommend It’s In His Kiss. If you’re not familiar with Julia Quinn and/or her Bridgerton series, I would recommend reading the series in order. This is an enjoyable entry in the series, but it was a little disappointing that the rest of the Bridgerton siblings didn’t play as prominent of a role as they did in some of the other books. That said, the conversation between Gareth and Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton, was hilarious; it’s difficult to tell which man felt more awkward.
